“Star Wars” toys are out in Force

The final Star Wars installment, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, brings with it a new line of toys, on shelves April 2. In addition to a new line of action figures, the items include electronic light sabers ($20) with interchangeable blades, Force vibrations or Yoda phrases; a Star Wars Trivial Pursuit edition ($50); and the Attacktix battle-figure game ($6-$10), which combines action-figure play with trading cards. Episode III hits theaters May 19.

Sith take revenge on “The O.C.”

For the pop-culture savvy soap The O.C., a Star Wars partnership would seem like a match made in hyperspace – at least for a night. A trailer for the final installment of the Star Wars saga, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, will air during the March 10 episode of the Fox series (8 p.m. ET/PT). While Seth, Ryan, Marissa and Summer ruminate at the mall over such earthly matters as making up and breaking up, Anakin Skywalker is battling the temptations of the dark side while keeping his marriage a secret. Revenge of the Sith is in theaters worldwide May 19.

“Star Wars” fans miss Solo turn

Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is raking in millions without the saga’s most popular star. According to a USA TODAY/CNN poll conducted May 20-22, Han Solo is the most popular hero of the George Lucas space opera. Among people who identified themselves as Star Wars fans, 19% chose Harrison Ford’s character as their favorite. Chewbacca and Yoda tied for second with 13%, while Darth Vader was third with 12%. Despite the movie’s $108.4 million opening weekend, nearly two-thirds of Americans say they are not fans of the Star Wars saga. While 30% considered themselves fans and 63% said they were not fans, and 1% had no opinion.
